Hello Seattle, I am an albatross…

Last minute we decided to get outta town over Memorial day and spend the night in Seattle. We love that city. Jeremy got us a great deal at a hotel downtown. It had an awesome view of the city. The girls loved it so much, that they decided to sleep on the windowsill, 24 stories up.

We took the kids to the zoo. The peacocks were jumping out of the bushes at us.

On the way home. It was a quick trip, but really fun!
DSC05220Some memorable moments: Hayley brought a plant with her and we didn't see it until it was in the hotel. Zack asking Johnny every 5 minutes what he was doing, the crazy car downtown with giant wheels and rims, clam chowder by the pier, being right in the heart of the city, seeing the driftwood shelters in the beach, having the gps not work by the skyscrapers, Zack in the crack, all the Chihuli glass, signed prints in our room.

Birthdays and such...

Zack was sick on Easter, so here's a pic with him and Jeremy the following Sunday. Zack is not the most cooperative at taking pictures.
For Laurel's birthday, Johnny and Laurel took the kids to a nearby fishing pond. It's in a beautiful valley. It was Jeremy's turn to be sick, so he stayed home. :(

This pic is of Zack, with Johnny behind him, reeling in a fish. The dog lives on the property, and was trying to get all the fish.
For Zack's birthday, he got a space helmet that Laurel made from a welding mask. :)
Zack also got a football helmet. Both pics were taken on his birthday. He wore both costumes. He is currently quite a costume guy.
During the day of Zack's birthday, he got to go bowling with his buddy Trestin, Mom, and Uncle Johnny. Zack still loves bowling.
Zack helped to make his Spider man cake.
He wanted matching Superman shirts with Dad for his birthday. Jeremy wore his when he came home from work. This pic is a little blurry, but I think Zack's expression is great.

Zack’s glasses, my student’s painting

I recently took Zack to the eye doctor because she suggested that since Clara needed them early, Zack might need to be checked out. Turns out he has one eye that dominates over the other. She caught it really early so he won’t have to do the eye patch thing. He loves them and feels so grown up.

Also, I have been teaching art lessons to a young woman in the other ward. She did an amazing job on her painting recently. She trades me babysitting and has recently been staying with the kids so that we can got to temple and shopping trips in Spokane.

Zack

Zack is a different character every day. Often he wears multiple costumes in a day. It is rare to see him in
normal attire. I am told that this phase is not going to last forever, so I am going to try to record it with my camera. Stay tuned!

Hayley's solo festival

Hayley participated in a solo festival for area music students today. It was for 7-12 grades, but she was asked to go as a 6th grader. She played her flute and sang. Here's some pics I took of her in between performances. Judges from WSU critiqued the performances. She got the highest score possible for her vocal, and we have yet to hear about her flute performance. Here's a link to her singing. http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1499541582139&saved.

The flute solo is at http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1499573782944&saved#!/video/video.php?v=1499573782944.
