Hanging out with the chicks

Clara got some baby chicks to raise yesterday. They were 2 days old when she got them. There are 3 of them. We made a cage out of materials we found at the thrift store and since it is still too cold they are in the garage right now. Hayley and Clara have been wearing aprons and carrying the chicks around in the pocket of their aprons. It's pretty cute. Since we can't have chickens in our neighborhood, a friend in our ward will take them when they get big. One of the chicks will lay colored eggs when it grows up!

Saint Patty's Day

So we celebrated St. Patty's with our family tradition of having a green dinner, but this time I came up with stuff that was already green! (Jeremy doesn't appreciate the green colored meat.) So we had spinach wraps, asparagus, and avocado chips. Oh, I did dye the apple juice green. :)

This weekend

Here's Zack all dressed up for church. I got him to wear a tie for about 1/2 hour while we were getting ready. Then I fed him down for a nap since our church is at 1pm (boo). He had to be waken up from his nap to go and there was no way he was wearing it then! But at least I got a pic of our growing boy.

Saturday we went down to walk along a river near by. It was fun to take the dog- she and Zack had fun chasing all the ducks. We have discovered that a tired out puppy is a good puppy!

Thank goodness for Benadryll!

Real parents know when to give a dose of Benadryll. After a few hours on a plane with a toddler, we knew it was time. Ahhhh serenity. (Jeremy is tracking the plane on his GPS- and yes, that's legal.)

Funny manly hair

Zack got a big boy haircut recently where he went to a barber and everything. Unfortunately every time I try to take a picture of him the flash makes him blink. Oh well, I'll try to post a better one later.
Okay so quick explanation- While we were on our trip to CA Jeremy didn't shave. So when we got back I dared him to shave everything and just leave a really cool mustache. After some giggles he finally shaved that too. Doesn't he look like his name should be Luigi and that he should be making a pizza? Tee Hee.

A trip to the beach

Hayley plays in the sand.
The beach boys play catch. (How cute is that!?!)

Eww! Doesn't Zack know how nasty seaweed is!?!

Tyler and Clara running.

Okay so I do admit that I miss the beach now that I live out of state. We enjoyed a nice February day there with Grandma Wendy and Ginny and her kids, and even though the water was freezing, it didn't stop the kids one bit.

An extra Day...

For Jeremy's valentines present, I had secretly booked a hotel and arranged for the two of us to stay an extra day at Disneyland, after our day with my family. We didn't end up going into the park again, but instead did shopping in Downtown Disney and ate at (pictured here) the Rainforest Cafe.

Disneyland!!!!!!!!!

Cousins Tyler and Hayley horsing around on the carousel.
Zack was so cool while waiting in line for Pirates.

Yup, that's actually Grandpa sitting in a teacup with three little girls!

Zack meets Mickey for the first time! (Hayley was on a ride with her cousins)

The funny thing about this picture is that none of us know while we are taking this that Jeremy is wearing an eye patch!

Geocaching with our cousins

So these pictures are in order from last to first, but one of the fun things we did in San Diego was geocaching with our cousins. It is a fun "sport" where you use coordinates from a GPS to find "caches" or hidden treasures that others have hidden. This is a cache that we found above Ginny's house, on a trail that she didn't even know about. It took us awhile, but we finally found the cache. The kids found lots of great loot in it, and had fun hiding it again for the next person.

Zack loves Grandpa's truck!

On our recent trip to California Grandpa Paul showed Zack his truck. To which upon seeing it Zack exclaimed, "drive?!?"

A few days in the life of Clara

Clara got to take the puppy for her show and tell recently. The puppy was a huge hit! She even sat at Clara's desk. (And gave out kisses)

Clara saved up "points" for doing chores around the house. She earned a trip to a local pottery studio where you get to pick out pottery and glaze them. She and mom had a great time!

Another pic of Clara's show and tell....
