Oh the weather outside is frightful...

Here's some pics from Christmas. We got close to 3 feet of snow! It was my first white Christmas and it was definitely full of white! The top pic is from today- Jeremy really wanted to barbecue some steak, so he shoveled a path to the grill! The rest are pics from Christmas, we had a very enjoyable one. My friend, Jane, made the kids blankets for Christmas- Zack's has football on one side and basketball on the other- why didn't I think of that! :)

First day of Christmas Break

Today was a busy day! We made gingerbread houses and played in the snow. Buddy the elf would be proud! We've had lots of snow lately, about 18 inches or so. Today we were finally all healthy enough to go out and play. Hayley and Clara had lots of fun but I don't think that Zack enjoyed it. It was his first time this year in the snow and he was not so thrilled. At least he smiled when I took some pictures. This weekend we had a freezing fog- which leaves every thing flocked with snow. It's really pretty!
Oh, as a funny side note- I bought chains for my car and asked the salesman how to put them on. He started to get really frustrated with me while he was explaining it, and I said "Look, give me a break, I'm a 6th generation San Diegan and somehow I have ended up here with all this white stuff and I don't know what to do!"

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

We had our first snow today. Up until now it has been so warm that my spring bulbs were sprouting. Unfortunately we've been sick this week, and Zack has had the worst of it. We went to the mall the other night to get out of the house and happened to see Santa. (That's why Zack is in his fire truck pajamas.) -I think that it caught Santa off guard!

Twins!

Zack had lots of fun in Utah with his twin- I mean cousin Miles. They look exactly the same from the back! Perhaps the only thing better that he liked on the trip was playing on Grandma Betty's stairs. Too bad Annie's son, Travis, wasn't around, then we could have had triplets!

Having fun in Utah

While in Utah, Daniel and Stacy took Jeremy off-roading up in the mountains above Provo. The girls had fun with cousins Jacob and baby Canyon, who was caught taking a break for some quick energy before more off-roading. We also took the kids to BYU to show them our old stomping grounds and to buy some new hats.

In Cousin Heaven

Our trip to Utah was greatly anticipated because we knew we would be meeting 3 new cousins for the first time. Here Jeremy's mom is holding babies Sophie and Max. The two were blessed while we were there and we were so glad to have been there for it! We had family pictures taken while were were there and had lots of fun afterward playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Jeremy and his brothers in law are even thinking about taking there band on tour. What would they be called? Air (Guitar) Supply? :)

Lloydering in Idaho

We started our Thanksgiving trip and went to visit Annie and her family and had an awesome time at their home. They have the neatest horse and he was so gentle and fun. The cousins had lots of fun together and we are looking forward to a family reunion at their home in July. After a couple of nights with them and their new baby, Suzanna, we were sad to leave and continue on to Utah. Along the way we stopped and saw Johnny for lunch before he headed home for Thanksgiving. That was a real treat since we hadn't planned on him still being in town so we were glad to catch him before he left!

Recent Pics

Here's some recent pics. Our maple tree out front was a beautiful color. It was pretty while it lasted before the wind came last night.:) Hayley and Clara tried cousin Addy's idea of baking cookies with Halloween candy. It was a great way to use up candy. Thanks Addy! Clara learned that Nerds don't bake well and turn out like melted plastic, but the rest was delicious! This last weekend we went hiking in the mountains again, and Hayley, Clara and I made a stick fort in the woods. They did a good job! Hope all is well with you and happy Autumn!

Halloween!!!!!

Happy Halloween! This year Hayley was a bat, Clara was a jaguar, and Zack was as he puts it, a "football guy." Zack and I made the rounds today in the girls' classes. From the pics it looks like I helped the teacher while he ate. But the top pic is actually Zack and Hayley in the cafeteria at lunch. We had lots of fun trick or treating -the rain stopped thanks to Hayley saying a prayer :) . Zack was soooo excited while we were getting ready to go out- even though he didn't know what was going to happen, he was excited that we were all going to go play outside at night. He ran around on one of neighbor's porches screaming with joy and then tried to go inside everyone's house. (Isn't that what you normally do after you ring the bell?) All in all we had lots of fun, way too much sugar, and are looking forward to sleeping in on Saturday. :)

Sauce!

The other night at dinner, Zack was loving the applesauce. As soon as he finished his portion he would yell out, "Sauce!" asking for more. Well, it got to the point where he had eaten so much "sauce" that I had to put it away. By that time he was wearing quite a bit of it, but believe it or not, most of it did make it into his mouth. (Yeah, I forgot the bib)

Haircut Boys

Once again was time for the boys in our family to get their haircuts. This is new territory for us to have a kid needing frequent haircuts, so this time he went with dad. The "after" pic is on the top. So handsome!

Our Dam Tour

This weekend we went on a tour of a dam on the Snake River. They have an elaborate system in place to help the spawning fish get over the dam using a fish ladder and crazy "rivers" that run all through the structure of the dam. At one point, they have viewing glass so that you can see the fish as they go up the ladder. A person sits at a window and counts all the fish going through the dam. Some steelhead trout were up to 3 feet long! They wouldn't let us take pictures since they've tightened security from 9-11, but this is a pic of the fish viewing spot that I found on their website to show you what we saw.

Getting Squashed

Today I picked the pumpkins that we grew so that I could put them on the porch. (Well, actually the ones I planted didn't do so good- but this one was a volunteer from last year's pumpkin that I threw in my compost area!) While I was decorating for Fall outside, our neighbor, Jack, came over and asked if I wanted some squash. It was so big he was cutting it with a saw! I thought it was funny so I had to take a picture of his giant squash.

Latest pics

Hayley and Clara got their school pics recently. I only got downloads of them but I like them enough that I think that I will end up ordering prints. Usually it is the other way around! Today we went up in the mountains in Idaho. We saw a 3,000 year old tree and thought that it was incredible that it was on the earth before Christ came! We did lots of hiking and some off-roading and just pretty much exploring in the woods. The kids played in a giant hollowed out cedar tree. Jeremy and I have been trying harder to make family time a priority. So far we have been having lots of fun!

What's Up

Last night we bought Jeremy an '06 Frontier that we hope will do better in the snow than his little Mazda. Today we drove up onto the mountain in the next town for some off-roading. We had never been up there since our other cars wouldn't make it up. We found lots of mountain biking and hiking trails and we stopped and hiked around while it sprinkled rain on us. We saw some deer up there while driving down.

Here's some pics of the dance studio that I painted murals at. The girls will get lessons in exchange. There's also a pic of the tree that I did at a friend's house. Their house is very country so it works. I also did 2 murals for my mom's group this summer and I'll try to post those soon.
