Spring Break without the Spring
The kids and I had a great Spring Break. We made a list of all the things we wanted to do and we did all but one. (It's too hard to go geocaching in the snow!) We went swimming at the aquatic center with dad, we made egg decorations by blowing out eggs, we went to the movies, and we had a bunch of friends over and we rode the city bus to the WSU creamery. Most of the time I was too busy to take pictures, but I did remember to take some on the bus ride home. I took some time out to relax though on Fridlay by getting a babysitter and going to a craft fair, lunch, and antiquing with a friend. The sun finally shone this morning and we took the dog with us to go play by the river down town. Looks like spring will be here next week, but without the break. Oh well. :)

Fun with Science
.

Before the kids' spring break started, there was the Science Fair. I love the science fair because everyone wins and the kids get medals, ribbons, and certificates. Clara used her pet frog to find out how far it could hop. It hopped 17.5 inches! Hayley tried to see what would happen if she substituted brown sugar for the white sugar in snickerdoodles. Both kids came up with their own stuff and had lots of fun. Here's some pics. Oh yeah, and Hayley did a blind taste test on Jeremy- and he could tell the difference.

Little Town, Big Fun
Last night Amy Roloff from "Little People, Big World" was in town to give a talk at WSU. A friend and I went and we sat in the 8th row and I got to ask her a question when the talk was over. I asked her how a little person such as herself could have twins. She said that she had to be on bed rest for most of the time, and that lots of people questioned if she could do it and she always questioned, "well, why not?"
It was a really fun time and I realized just how big of a fan I was.... I was star struck! When she walked into the auditorium I was like the kids at Disneyland when they see Mickey Mouse or the Princesses. It was hard to see her since she is so small but she was like, "now you know how I feel all the time and can't see over all you tall people!" She was just like she is on the show, she is not a hugely eloquent speaker, but her personality is captivating. She talked a lot about her life growing up and about her dream of being a mom, and motherhood. Here's a clip I took when someone asked her a question about body image.
